Rob calls tradies in for work on his building all the time, and not one of them has ever asked him for a review.
But when he needs a tradie himself, the reviews are the first thing he checks, and his friends say the same. On the Sunshine Coast the good tradies are flat out, so you end up choosing from the ones who are free, and the reviews are how you tell who does good work. If you can't see it there, you move on to the next one.
The research says the same. In the US, 97% of people read reviews when they're choosing a local business, and 47% won't use one with fewer than 20 reviews. Of the people who were asked for a review in the past year, 83% left one (BrightLocal Local Consumer Review Survey 2026, a US sample). Rob sees it happening here in Australia too.
Reviews are one of the most important parts of a tradie's business, and one of the most neglected. Prado Digital exists to do the asking for you.
One service at one price: Google review requests after every job, A$297 + GST a month, with no setup fee and no lock-in.
Every customer you mark as done gets the same request. Nobody is paid or rewarded for a review, and no review is hidden, which keeps it within Google's rules and the ACCC's.
Your Google profile and your reviews stay yours, even if you stop.
It all runs by text, email and phone, so where you are doesn't matter. When you get in touch, you deal with Rob.
I started out on the tools, as an apprentice motor mechanic. As a second-year apprentice I took first place in motor mechanics at the Queensland Work Skills awards, ahead of third and fourth-year apprentices and a qualified tradesman. Then I won gold at the Australian Work Skill Competition, which put me in the team of 31 Australians sent to the International Youth Skill Olympics in 1989, the competition now called WorldSkills. I trained on the Isle of Man, competed in Birmingham, England, and came home with a silver medal in Automotive Mechanics, one of six golds and silvers the Australian team won that year. I was an A-grade motor mechanic until 1991.

Then I moved into technology, and I've spent more than 30 years building networks, servers, websites, programs and systems for businesses, schools, a local TV station, international organisations in South America and training organisations. In New Zealand I ran my own networking business for medical practices, and I took Wellsford Medical Centre from constant outages to zero downtime.
These days I'm also a building manager, looking after a 27-apartment accommodation building on the Sunshine Coast, and I deal with tradesmen often for work on the building. I see what a good tradie is worth to the person who hired them, and how little time you've got left at the end of the day for anything that isn't the job.
Prado Digital is where those two sides meet. I know your world from the tools and from the building, and I've been building the systems that run quietly in the background for most of my working life.
Rob Thiesfield is the director of Prado Group Pty Ltd, the family company behind Prado Digital, based in Caloundra on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. A former A-grade motor mechanic, he won the Queensland and Australian titles in motor mechanics as an apprentice, then silver in Automotive Mechanics for Team Australia at WorldSkills Birmingham 1989. He has spent more than 30 years building networks, servers, websites, programs and systems for businesses, schools, a local TV station, international organisations in South America and training organisations. He also manages a 27-apartment accommodation building, where he works with tradespeople regularly. Through Prado Digital, he runs Google review requests for tradies anywhere in Australia, starting local on the Sunshine Coast.
Thiesfield and Prado both mean "field" in their own way, so Prado Group carries the family into the business. Rob set it up on the Sunshine Coast in 2019 as the family company. Prado Digital is its digital arm, trading under that name since June 2026, and it helps other businesses put technology to work, starting with Google reviews for tradies.
